| ACTIVITIES |JOIN US IN THE ROTUNDA FOR THE PAECT STUDENT TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE!Twenty-six schools from across the state and 175 students and advisors participated in the event. The students ranged from first grade to high school age and their projects involved robotics, web based interactive projects, video production, broadcasting, CADD, animation, and PowerPoint and multimedia presentations. There were a number of sophisticated robotic projects. They were programmed to play pool, golf and wrestle. Some were even designed to teach letter and sound recognition to elementary and special education students. Middletown Area High School students broadcasted from the showcase and interviewed participants. These students operate a broadcast station, WMSS91.1FM from their high school. They broadcast, music, high school sports and events and local worship services. Students from Hershey High School's multimedia classes were on hand to film the event. Lieutenant Governor Katherine Baker Knoll and her staff visited the showcase and spent much time reviewing the projects and talking with the students. Many senators and representatives arranged photo shoots and Capitol tours and spent time with the students. Lance Rougeux, Executive Policy Specialist and Monique R Williams, Education Administration Specialist from the Office of Educational Technology were in attendance. They were interviewed by WMSS 91.1FM and reviewed the students. Past President Jack Day opened the showcase and welcomed the participants.
